Dickey, a cherished son, brother, and friend, died at his home, leaving behind wonderful memories and a legacy of service.

A Life Well-Lived

Dickey was born on July 24, 1967, in the vibrant city of Chattanooga. He grew up with a zest for life and went on to graduate from Red Bank High School. Right after high school, he answered the call of duty and joined the Tennessee Air National Guard, specifically the 241 EI Squadron. Throughout his service, he had several deployments, proving his dedication and commitment to the country.

A Man of Many Skills

After completing his military service, Dickey transitioned into the workforce as a proud member of IBEW 175. He found his calling at Lawson Electric, where he made a name for himself as a skilled worker. His colleagues often spoke about his strong work ethic and friendly demeanor, which made him a well-respected member of the team.

Remembering Loved Ones

In the midst of his achievements and his care for others, Dickey faced the pain of loss. He was preceded in death by numerous loved ones, including his grandparents Albert and Inogine Henley, as well as David and Helen Mincey. Additionally, Dickey shared a deep bond with his life partner, Valerie Reagan, and was known to consider his step-father and best friend, Charles Reed, an important figure in his life. His stepmother, Voleda Henley, also passed before him, highlighting the emotional struggles he faced over the years.

Family and Friends Left Behind

Dickey leaves behind a vibrant family who will miss him dearly. His parents, Richard A. Henley Sr. and Charlotte Reed, remain, along with his brother Todd and sister Valerie Reed Sanders. He was also an adored uncle to his nieces and nephews: Taylor and Morgan Henley, and Abbie Sanders. These family ties were incredibly important to Dickey, who valued his relationships above all else.

Final Farewell

In his honor, the family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, April 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday, April 9, from 12 to 1 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled to take place at the Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel at 1 p.m. on April 9.
