Songbirds to Re-Open This Saturday at a New Location on Main Street

April 16, 2024

Four months after closing its original location at the Chattanooga Choo Choo, Songbirds is set to reopen doors to the guitar enthusiasts and music lovers in a new venue at 206 W. Main St. this coming Saturday, announced Reed Caldwell, executive director for the nonprofit Songbirds Foundation. The new address will house a 4,000-square-foot facility that will relaunch at 6 p.m. on the announced date.

New Location, New Features

In addition to the significantly spacious layout that the new facility offers, it comes with a commercial kitchen, expanding the scope of services Songbirds can provide. Caldwell revealed plans of hosting a variety of musical and entertainment events, some of which will include dinner programs.

“We’re going to a donation-funded model for our guitar displays,” Caldwell stated, highlighting the rejigged fiscal operation of the facility. He also mentioned the ongoing fundraising efforts to support their Guitar for Kids program, which so far has donated over 1,000 guitars to children in need of such musical instruments.

New Address, Same Passion

The relocation from Station Street of Chattanooga Choo Choo and adjustments to the operational model signifies a new chapter for Songbirds, but their passion for promoting music and impacting lives through their programs remains intact.

Follow the Tune

The first public event at the new facility is keenly awaited, with music aficionados looking forward to discovering what the ‘new’ Songbirds has to offer. The songbird continues to fly, and it invites Chattanooga’s locals and visitors to follow its tune and support the community.

A New Chapter For Chattanooga’s Music Scene

The reopening of Songbirds in its new location is seen as a significant step in the development of Chattanooga’s music scene. The city’s musical heritage will be further enriched by Songbirds’ continued efforts, with the new Main Street location promising to be a buzzing hub for music lovers.

The new facility offers ample opportunities for future engagement including, potential concerts, exhibitions, and educational programs. With the kitchen addition, it embodies a meeting point of diverse cultures, where music, food, and people harmonize into a vibrant community.

This move is a testimony of Songbirds’ commitment to maintain its role as a major player in Chattanooga’s music scene. The community’s support will be crucial to the ‘new’ Songbirds’ adaptability and expansion, pushing Chattanooga further onto the national music map.
