Stolen Car Suspect in Custody After Early Morning Chase in Ooltewah
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. —
In the early hours of Friday, June 21, 2024, Hamilton County deputies successfully apprehended a suspect in a car theft case following a high speed chase in the Ooltewah, Ringgold road area.
Suspect Identified Using License Plate Reader
According to officials, the stolen vehicle was identified using a sophisticated license plate reader that flagged the vehicle as being stolen from Chattanooga. The alarming discovery initiated an immediate response from Hamilton County deputies who were on the scene around 2AM.
High Speed Chase Ensues
As the deputies spotted the stolen vehicle, they instigated a high speed chase, attempting to halt the suspect by using spike strips. This attempt, however, proved unsuccessful at stopping the culprit.
