Upcoming Traffic Changes in Hamilton County

If you’re heading out in Hamilton County soon, there’s something you need to know! The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced some road construction activities on I-24 that could affect your travel plans.

What to Expect

From Sunday night to Monday morning, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., TDOT contract crews will be shifting traffic to the outer lanes of I-24. This major traffic shift will occur on the stretch of highway between Belvoir Avenue and Spring Creek Road.

Why the Changes?

So why is this happening? The crews will begin work on the median and the inner lanes of the highway, contributing to necessary upgrades and improvements in the area. While this is good news for future commutes, it does mean that we’ll have to deal with some delays during these times.

Be Prepared for Delays

Drivers are reminded to use extra caution in this area. When you’re out on the roads, it’s especially important to stay alert and be patient as changes unfold. Expect some delays, and if you can, try to avoid this section of the highway during these hours.
