Virginia was not just a name; she was a beloved friend, a devoted mother, and a proud grandmother. Her family will remember her as a loving mother to Sally (Brian) Stacy and Susan (Charles) Templeton, who always brought joy and kindness into their lives. Virginia cherished her role as a Granny, doting on her grandchildren, Amber (Janise) Kent, Daah (Matt) Croft, and Ashley (Jon) Blackburn, who all carried a piece of her loving spirit with them. She also embraced the role of great granny with pride, showering her four great-grandchildren with love and affection.

Family and Faith

Virginia leaves behind two sisters, Dee Powderly and Marie Marlin, along with memories of a sister and brother who have passed on. The bonds of family meant everything to her, and her faith in Christianity guided her life, providing her with strength and comfort throughout her years.

Passions and Hobbies

Virginia’s personality was as vibrant as her passions. She had an incredible love for music, often serenading friends and family while playing the piano. Singing was one of her favorite pastimes, a joyful expression that she shared with everyone around her. An avid doll collector, she had an eye for beautiful dolls that reflected her playful and artistic spirit.

When it came to downtime, Virginia loved curling up and watching her favorite shows on the home shopping network. There was something about the thrill of discovering unique treasures that brought a smile to her face. She also had a soft spot for travel, especially her trips to the breathtaking Pigeon Forge, where she created lasting memories with her loved ones.

A Heart of Gold

Virginia was not just about family; she valued friendships deeply as well. She often volunteered with her best friend Ann at various craft fairs, bringing joy to others through their creative endeavors. Virginia’s heart for service and community engagement truly made an impact on those she met.

Final Farewell

As the news of her passing spreads, friends and family alike remember the incredible legacy Virginia leaves behind. Her loved ones will welcome friends to the Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel in Hixson on Monday, March 10, from 4-8 p.m. to share stories, memories, and laughter as they honor her life. A funeral service is set for Tuesday, March 11, at 10 a.m., with Pastor Tony Wilson officiating, ensuring that her spirit is celebrated according to her wishes.

Following the service, Virginia will be laid to rest at the Hamilton Memorial Gardens, where family and friends can visit and pay their respects. The funeral arrangements are under the compassionate care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, conveniently located at 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
