Chattanooga Residents Face Crucial Election: Support Kathy Lennon for District 27

Chattanooga Preparing for a Big Decision: Why Kathy Lennon is the Right Choice for District 27

As we approach the upcoming election on November 5, residents of Chattanooga find themselves at a crossroads. With issues affecting our community—like education, healthcare, and economic development—voting for a leader who understands these challenges is more important than ever. Many folks are rallying behind Kathy Lennon for the Tennessee House District 27, and it’s easy to see why!

A Heart for the Community

I first crossed paths with Kathy in 2015 when she was running the Chattanooga Workspace Building. I was working with an organization looking to lease a space, and I couldn’t help but notice her enthusiasm for the local community. Kathy has always had this incredible passion for fostering opportunities for local artists and small businesses. She wasn’t just managing a building; she was creating a genuine hub for creativity and growth.

By early 2016, I started to think about running for the school board. Just my luck, Kathy had the same idea! With her characteristic smile, she said, “You should run too. We could run against each other. It’d be fun!” But instead of competing, I decided to stand with her and became her treasurer. I saw in Kathy an unwavering commitment to not only improving our schools but also to the community at large. Her actions showed she was serious about leading change, not just talking about it.

A Focus on Education and Students

Fast forward to 2020 when I was fortunate enough to get elected. One of Kathy’s first pieces of advice was simple but powerful: “Marco, remember—it’s always about the students, the students, the students.” This perfectly captures her essence. Kathy’s approach centers around the people she serves, making sure that the policies she advocates reflect a commitment to people-first leadership.

Kathy is especially passionate about strengthening public education, which she believes is the foundation for our future. She’s a vocal advocate for fully funding our schools, advocating for improved teacher pay, and ensuring that every student, no matter their background, has access to a high-quality education.

Healthcare for All

Another significant focus for Kathy is expanding healthcare access for all Tennesseans. She supports initiatives to expand Medicaid and is proactive about pushing for affordable healthcare, especially in the rural areas where options can be limited. Kathy is forthright—she won’t be swayed by big pharmaceutical companies or insurance lobbyists. Her mission is clear: ensuring that every family has access to the care they require.

Driving Economic Development

When it comes to economic growth, Kathy’s vision is all about sustainable progress. With her experience at the Workspace and Chattanooga Market, along with her family’s business background, she knows that our district can only thrive by investing in small businesses and promoting innovation. Kathy understands that by creating accessible job opportunities, we can build a thriving community.

Bringing Unity Amidst Polarization

In today’s often divisive political landscape, Kathy Lennon is a breath of fresh air. She resists playing partisan games and is not driven by special interests or personal agendas. Instead, she listens to the concerns of the people in her district and is steadfastly focused on putting their needs first. Whether it’s about improving schools, enhancing healthcare, creating jobs, or boosting economic development, her approach is always thoughtful and grounded in the reality of what our community needs to flourish.

Your Vote Matters

As we get ready for this important election, I invite you to take a moment and consider the impact of your vote. Kathy Lennon is not just a candidate; she’s a leader who is genuinely committed to our community and the challenges we face. Let’s come together and make the best choice for Chattanooga by voting for Kathy Lennon for Tennessee House District 27 on November 5!
