The Photographic Society of Chattanooga invites students aged 14-18 to submit their works for the annual Youth Photography Showcase. Opening for submissions from January 13 to February 15, 2025, this event requires no entry fee and aims to highlight creativity across various educational backgrounds. Judging will be conducted by distinguished judges across six categories, with awards presented in March. Selected images may compete on a global stage with the Photography Society of America, providing an unparalleled opportunity for young talents to shine.
In the vibrant city of Chattanooga, an exciting opportunity is knocking for budding photographers! The Photographic Society of Chattanooga is thrilled to announce the launch of its annual Youth Photography Showcase, now in its 19th year. This showcase invites talented students aged 14 through 18 from high schools and youth groups to display their remarkable photographic skills.
This showcase isn’t just about taking pictures; it’s a chance for young minds to express their creativity through the lens. The event aims to highlight outstanding photographs from students across various educational backgrounds including public schools, private institutions, home schools, and youth groups. The showcase will open its doors (virtually, that is!) on January 13, and will remain open for submissions until February 15, 2025. One of the best parts? There’s absolutely no entry fee for participants! What a fantastic way to encourage our youth to get involved in the world of photography without any financial burden!
The grand celebration of the young artists will culminate in an awards program in March, where all accepted images and prints will be projected. Here, the winners will be crowned at the Youth Photography Showcase Awards Program. It’s not just about the glory though; each category winner will walk away with ribbons for their achievements, and a cash prize will be awarded for the Best of Show!
But wait, there’s more! Selected images from each participating school will be forwarded to the Photography Society of America for a chance to compete on a global stage.
